Frank News Release Date:  September 14, 2023 Contact:   Linda Veress , (307) 344-2015 MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, WY – Yellowstone National Park hosted 846,389 recreation visits in August 2023. This is a 45% increase from August 2022 (582,211 recreational visits) and a 3% increase from August 2019* (820,006 recreational visits). So far in 2023, the park has hosted 3,313,244 recreation visits, up 36% from 2022 (2,437,607 recreation visits), and up 6% from 2019 (3,114,697 recreation visits). The list below shows the year-to-date trend for recreation visits over the last several years (through August): 2023 – 3,313,244 2022 – 2,437,607  (The park was closed June 13 through June 21. Three entrances opened June 22.) 2021 – 3,590,609 2020 – 2,556,528  (The park was closed May 1 through May 17. Two entrances opened May 18 and the remaining three opened June 1.) 2019 – 3,114,697

Frank News Release Date:  May 10, 2023 Contact:   Morgan Warthin , (307) 344-2015 Weather-permitting, the following roads in Yellowstone National Park will open Friday, May 12 at 8 a.m. to public motor vehicle traffic: South Entrance to West Thumb West Thumb to Old Faithful (Craig Pass) West Thumb to Lake Village Tower-Roosevelt to Tower Fall The public are asked to: Watch for quickly changing  weather conditions  and possible temporary closures due to late spring storms. Many areas of the park are still experiencing winter conditions and snow and ice may cover sections of road. Frank News Release Date:  April 12, 2023 Contact:   Morgan Warthin , (307) 344-2015 MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, WY – Yellowstone National Park’s Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel spring 2023 opening has been delayed until the wastewater treatment system in the area is completed and operational. Due to the heavy winter and difficult construction conditions, the new system will not be operational by April 28 as originally planned, the scheduled Mammoth Hotel opening date. The park is working closely with contractors to complete the project as quickly as possible.   The  hotel closed  immediately after the 2022  historic June flood  because of damage to the area’s wastewater system. Bonney MOOSE, WY— Grand Teton National Park hosted 3,885,230 recreation visits in 2021, the highest number of recreation visits for one year in the park’s history. Previously, 2018 had the record for the most recreation visits in a year with 3,491,151. Recreation visits in 2021 exceed the 2018 record by 11% and surpassed the 2018 record in September 2021. Frank News Release Date: August 19, 2021 Contact: Morgan Warthin , (307) 344-2015 MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, WY - Yellowstone National Park hosted 1,080,767 recreation visits in July 2021, making it the most-visited July on record. This is a 13% increase from July 2020 (955,645 recreational visits) and a 15% increase from July 2019 (936,062 recreation visits). This July is also the most-visited month on record in Yellowstone’s history and the first time visitation exceeded 1 million visits in a single month.   So far in 2021, the park has hosted 2,668,765 recreation visits, up 16% from 2019. Bonney News Release Date: June 11, 2021 Contact: Denise Germann, 307-739-3393 Contact: CJ Adams, 307-739-3431 MOOSE, WY—Grand Teton National Park hosted an estimated 363,712 recreation visits in May 2021, a 30% increase compared to May 2019. The park was closed May 1- 17 in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Park statistics show that May 2021 had the highest number of recreation visits on record for the month of May.
