The Lewis River Bridge and Yellowstone River Bridge projects will cause traffic delays. It’s important that visitors plan accordingly for these delays located along the park’s southern and northern road corridors. 1. Lewis River Bridge Location:  Nearly 10 miles north of the South Entrance on the South Entrance Road Access:  In 2024, expect up to 20-minute delays while roads are open to wheeled vehicles (May-Oct. 31). Bonney MOOSE, WY  — Five planned temporary closures will take place after Labor Day in Grand Teton National Park as construction and road improvements projects get underway. Tentative schedules and locations of projects are: Moose-Wilson Road As previously planned, the southern portion of the Moose-Wilson Road from Granite Canyon Entrance to the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve will close to all access the day after Labor Day, September 6. This section of road will reopen to winter activity in December, through March 2023. The closure is needed because the road is too narrow to safely allow construction equipment and visitor traffic. The northern section of the road will remain open to the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve and Death Canyon Trailhead from the north, via Moose, WY.   Yellowstone National Park flood recovery: Change to access from the Northeast Entrance into the park It’s critical that visitors traveling to the park stay informed about what’s open and closed. MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, WY – Major construction repairs will begin substantially on Tuesday, Aug. 2. Contractors will be working on all damaged sections of the park’s Northeast Entrance Road near Cooke City/Silver Gate, Montana. This requires alterations to the closures on the road. The road had previously been open to bicyclists and pedestrian traffic to Barronette Meadow. Due to significant work beginning on the road this week, the road will be closed near the Warm Creek Trailhead and picnic area. This will still afford access to visitors and residents but will provide room for construction work to begin, including staging of equipment and materials needed to make repairs. It is estimated that repairs will be completed by Oct. 15, facilitating traffic between the park and Cooke City/Silver Gat

Public access will be limited to weekends during summer construction activities. Visitor Impacts in 2022 As part of a multi-year planning process, park staff evaluated options to provide the greatest amount of visitor access with the lowest additional cost and construction duration, while providing for the safety of visitors and crews during construction activities.
