Video shows bison attacking family at Yellowstone National Park

  NEWS RELEASE Beartooth Highway (US-212) partially reopened with nighttime closures Stay informed about road status and weather conditions              Views of Pilot and Index Peaks along the Beartooth Highway         NPS / Jacob W. Frank After repairing damage caused by the recent record-breaking flood event, the Beartooth Highway (US-212), located east of the park’s Northeast Entrance between Red Lodge, Montana, and Cooke City, Montana,  partially reopened June 28.   This partial reopening includes 23 miles of the Beartooth Highway beginning at the US-212/WY-296 junction to the Beartooth Ski Hill parking lot. Travelers will need to turn around at the ski hill parking lot due to flood damage on the remainder of the highway.   NEWS RELEASE Man gored by bison in Yellowstone National Park Always stay more than 25 yards (23 m) away from bison       Bison and visitors using the boardwalk at Fountain Paintpots (this photo is not representative of the specific incident                      described below).         NPS / Jim Peaco A 34-year-old male from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was gored by a bull bison near Giant Geyser at Old Faithful on June 27. The male was walking with his family on a boardwalk when a bull bison charged the group. Family members did not leave the area, and the bull bison continued to charge and gored the male. The male sustained an injury to his arm and was transported by ambulance to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
